Tiger and Elin during happier times

We’re not trying to turn this into the Tiger Woods blog, but Addicted2Golf took a brief hiatus and it just so happens that upon our return the most significant news in the golf world is that the greatest golfer on Earth is having a rough month.  First Tiger got booed during half time at a Stanford football game.  Now, he is all over the news for driving his SUV into a fire hydrant at his home in the middle of the night under mysterious circumstances.

Celebrity gossip site TMZ “reported” last night that Woods got into a major throw-down with his wife over an alleged affair. While completely unsubstantiated, their explanation of the event in lieu of something else credible from the Tiger camp makes the most sense.

Why would Tiger be out at that hour?  I doubt he was rushing out to stand in line at the local Walmart.  Why would Elin smash the back window to retrieve him from the SUV?  And better yet, how does one of the world’s greatest athletes known for an uncanny ability to focus on the golf course plow his truck into a tree AND a fire hydrant backing out of the drive way?  I’m guessing seeing your enraged wife rushing out for an impromptu test of the new Nike prototype iron against the backside of your Buick would break one’s concentration.  Just saying.

All kidding aside, I hope the rumors aren’t true and Tiger wasn’t cheating on his wife. That would be a shocking lapse in judgment from a guy that we’ve all admired up to this point for his accomplishments both on and off the golf course.

Now, can we get a spy photo of that prototype iron?
